Population Projection Report

The Population Projection Report 2025 provides baseline data and forecasts for both the resident-population and registered-patient population of York. It draws on historic and current demand and population data and incorporates planned housing developments; the aim is to illustrate the likely overall impact of housing growth, plus a growing and ageing population in York, on future health and care service demand.

The report does not seek to offer solutions or alternative approaches to meeting changing demand such as workforce capacity; only to illustrate the likely overall impact of housing growth and a growing and ageing population in York on health and care services in the future. 

The report has been completed by the York Population Health Hub, a collaboration between City of York Council Public Health, the City of York / NHS business-intelligence team, and Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (York Place).
